Common People

Six stories of disparate Londoners become intertwined when they encounter an escaped parrot in this bitter-sweet tale of love, loss and life in a London park.

Park Bench Pictures’ debut feature, Common People became the most successful micro-budget British film of 2014. It won numerous awards at international film festivals, played to packed houses in one London cinema for nine weeks in a row and then received a nationwide release throughout the UK with Picturehouse Cinemas. After the film screened in consideration for the 2015 BAFTA’s, Stephen Fry tweeted the following recommendation to his 9 million twitter followers the night before hosting the ceremony:

“Common People is a rare gem, the kind that makes you thrilled to have discovered it. With beautiful performances and a quiet firmness it pushes you to an understanding of human motive and love that is intensely moving and highly rewarding. I recommend this so highly."
